How awesome are these paintings made by the ladies in my 'Beginner's' watercolour class in Pretoria on Saturday, 24th of May, at Johann van Heerden Gallery. I was thrilled with their work! It is always a joy to teach here...

A wonderful workshop in Wakkerstroom produced amazing results. My delightful students outdid themselves! 4 came from Piet Retief, one from Newcastle, one from Potch, and one from Jhb. I am so proud of you all!

A week after the opening of my solo exhibition at Johann van Heerden's art gallery in Pretoria, I conducted a workshop there on painting a rural road.

Normally, I help each student to complete a painting on whichever level he or she is  at, and impart as much knowledge as they are ready to absorb. Each student then paints his own picture using his own unique reference... However, it just so happened that all 4 students were beginners. So we decided to do a step-by-step process, in which I would do the first step, and then they would follow. I then paint step two, after which they follow, etc.

I don't often do this, as the results would be too similar... I was pleasantly surprised by the end results. In this way I managed to do a painting as well...
